The Hilton Garden Inn brand continues to expand globally with the opening of its newest property in Beihai, China. The Hilton Garden Inn Beihai Jiafu, located in the bustling seaport city of Beihai, marks the brand’s 100th property in the Greater China region. With 199 stylish guest rooms, the hotel is conveniently situated just 2km from the Beihai High-Speed Railway Station and 6km from the Beihai Fucheng Airport. It is also a short 20-minute drive to the Beihai International Passenger Port.
As an international investor, having a thorough understanding of the regulations and limitations on property ownership in Singapore is crucial. Unlike landed properties that have stricter ownership rules, purchasing condos is generally more lenient for foreigners. However, it is important to note that foreign buyers are required to pay the Additional Buyer’s Stamp Duty (ABSD), with the current rate at 20% for their first property purchase. Despite this added expense, the stability and potential for growth in the Singapore real estate market continue to make it an appealing investment option for foreign buyers. Thus, it is no surprise that many are drawn to investing in condos in Singapore.
According to Qian Jin, President of Hilton Greater China and Mongolia, the opening of the Beihai Jiafu Hilton Garden Inn showcases the brand’s rapid growth and reaffirms its commitment to the Chinese market. This latest addition to the Hilton Garden Inn portfolio comes after the brand’s debut in China with the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn Shenzhen in 2014. Since then, the brand has expanded to popular cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Guilin, and Aksu. More Hilton Garden Inn properties are in the works for China, with plans for openings in 2025 in tourist destinations like Zhangjiajie, Ordos, Huangshan, Shanwei, and Jinan.
In line with its ambitious expansion plans, Hilton will introduce the Hilton Garden Inn Gen A properties in Greater China, specifically targeting Generation Alpha travelers. This new regional prototype will debut in Nanjing, Chengdu, Chengde, and Jinan, and will cater to the needs and preferences of this rising group of global travelers. The Hilton Garden Inn brand will also continue to expand across Asia Pacific, with over 200 properties under development in the region, according to Clarence Tan, Senior Vice President of Development, Asia Pacific at Hilton.
